Job Summary:

Reporting to the CHRO, The Director Talent Management and Recruiting is responsible for working with line management to improve the productivity and engagement of the organization's employees. This position will partner closely with the CHRO and the leadership team to implement strategic initiatives that enable the business to recruit, select, empower, and engage and retain top talent, and maintain our reputation as an employer of choice.

The Manager Training will report to this position.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Scan the environment for best practices and stay aware of competitive programs, costs, and trends
  • Provide innovative recommendations related to the development and implementation of talent initiatives, relying on thorough research, business data, and a solid understanding of relevant HR trends and best practices
  • Identify best practices for recruiting, selection and retention of top talent and work with HR team to implement.
  • Identify and implement effective talent sourcing tools built on the Kinectrics external profile and employment brand in the recruitment market e.g. LinkedIn
  • Identify and qualify recruitment agencies,
  • Lead Diversity policy development and programming to ensure that we have an inclusive and fair organization where diversity is recognized and encouraged
  • Lead Recruitment and Retention committee to define critical talent, succession plans and development of top talent
  • Acts as project lead for various talent management initiatives, including but not limited to leadership development and employee engagement
  • Implement mentoring programmes as appropriate
  • Implement a corporate Leadership competency model to guide selection, training, and employee development
  • Work with managers to implement leadership training initiatives
  • Work with IT and internal stakeholders to build talent management systems
  • Co-ordinate implementation of employee engagement survey and response to issues raised
  • Co-ordinate utilization of consultants and external resources to ensure that adequate and cost-effective resources are available for effective delivery
  • Acts as a resource regarding career development and training options to managers and employees
  • Miscellaneous Acts as project lead/team contributor to various global tools/initiative implementations

Education and Experience:

The ideal candidate has a strong generalist/business partner background, demonstrated experience in driving strategic talent management initiatives, and is a dynamic and decisive problem-solver.

A ‘roll up the sleeves” approach and an ability to identify and implement practical solutions is required

We are looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field such as Education, Sociology or Psychology.
  • 10 to 15 years HR experience designing and implementing talent management initiatives preferably in an engineering or technical environment.
  • This position requires senior level capabilities, with well developed skills in the following areas:
    • Relationship builder and communicator with ability to build trust at all levels,
    • Strategic thinking and an ability to operationalize and execute plans on time and budget  
    • Strong project management and organizational skills
    • Effective and experienced facilitator of employee sessions and presentations
    • High energy and confidence
  • Social media savvy, with experience using various social media applications (Twitter, Facebook, MSTeams, and LinkedIn) to communicate with employees and potential candidates
  • Strong technical skills including MS Office, Talent Management systems,
