We wouldn't be the hospital we are today without the people and nothing is more important to us then our team of dedicated employees. At PRHC, we pride ourselves on creating and maintaining an environment where people are valued, recognized, and treated with respect.

We offer competitive and comprehensive benefit plans, a pension program with matching employer contribution, professional development opportunities, employee and family assistance program, health and wellness programs (gym and yoga memberships, annual wellness fair, travel discounts) and a learning fund for educational development.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

At PRHC we know that our people are what make us special. The Director HR plays an important role in ensuring that we are able to execute our vision of taking an employee-centered approach in everything we do. As Director, you’ll be an instrumental part of visioning and planning each of the aforementioned efforts, and will be empowered with their implementation, evaluation, and sustainment. One of the fundamental things you will do is ensure that HR programming and services include a data-driven and evidence-based approach to the support and enablement of our staff population; this includes developing our workforce planning function as well as identifying areas of people risk/concern before they become issues using data, metrics, and current research/best-practice.

You will work closely and collaboratively with other corporate and operational areas within the Hospital, and will be a key member of our Director-led Operations Committee. The position reports to the Associate Vice President.

To be successful in the role, the Director will require the following:

A strong understanding of the function of Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness in a health care environment is preferred

Demonstrated success applying a people-focused approach to the leadership of your areas including: an ability to relate to and inspire your people; a willingness to deal with issues; a proven ability to develop high-performing teams, individuals, and leaders; ensuring a healthy and respectful workplace; motivating, supporting, and enabling the very best performance from your people

Experience identifying human-related risks, developing mitigation approaches, and designing/executing appropriate interventions; including an ability to identify and deliver proactive programming intended to improve safety, offset conflict, increase team cohesion and productivity, and build/maintain the components necessary for a modern and effective organization from a people-perspective

Excellent interpersonal, coaching, communication, and presentation skills are necessary, as is the ability to influence (without formal authority) all levels of an organization to make sound and defensible people-related business decisions

Demonstrated effectiveness in budgeting, resource management, and contractor/vendor negotiations and management

Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for process and systems improvement, including: the preparation of compelling and best-practice/data-driven business cases; project planning; strategy, program, and policy development; excellent change management; and a demonstrated ability to lead concepts/ideas through to effective implementation
