TMX Group’s Human Resources department is a high-performing team responsible for providing TMX Group and its subsidiaries with the full suite of Human Resources services they need to support and develop their people strategies that are aligned with plans to grow and evolve the business. 

The Total Rewards team within the Human Resources department uses total rewards design and systems to support the desired culture and to enhance the company’s ability to hire, retain, and motivate employees. The team contributes to the company’s success through the development, implementation, and operationalization of total reward strategies and programs in the areas of competitive compensation, compensation governance, short and long-term incentive pay design, job evaluation, pension, benefits, wellness, payroll, and operations.

Reporting to the Director, Total Rewards, the Employee Wellness Lead will be accountable for the day-to-day management of all employee benefit and wellness programs, including health benefits, vacation and leave benefits, total wellness, and recognition programs enterprise-wide. This position will be integral to building a forward-thinking total wellness strategy informed by market research, best practices, and the diverse needs of TMX employees.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Lead implementation and administration of employee benefit programs such health, dental, STD, LTD, life insurance, employee assistance, wellness, absences, recognition, service awards and other related programs

     

  • Build on the success of TMX’s wellness program - Live Well - by developing a long-term employee wellness strategy with measurable metrics and outcomes, including a focus on supporting employee mental health and overall wellbeing

     

  • Continually track and monitor time off programs (illness, vacation, personal, etc.)

     

  • Coordinate the annual review of benefit and wellness programs including monitoring of trends, best practices, utilization and cost/benefit analysis to recommend opportunities for improvements

     

  • Lead vendor relations and performance through service level agreements, usage and trend reports, conducting performance meetings, and ensuring compliance with plan provisions. Keep abreast of market trends / new products and vendors and determine if TMX could benefit from changes

     

  • Research and propose enhanced technological tools or processes to support our benefit and wellness programs and enhance the employee experience

     

  • Act as the functional lead for the benefit related processes within our HRIS system, Workday and support implementation projects globally

     

  • Apply creativity in developing and designing employee wellness and reward programs to support employee engagement and our recognition culture

     

  • Lead Employee Recognition and Service Award programs. Develop new programs based on emerging business needs or market trends

     

  • Work closely with employee communication specialists in order to provide information, increase awareness and understanding of benefit and wellness programs

     

  • Conduct new employee orientation sessions on our benefit and wellness programs, using technology and digital media tools

     

  • Build networks and attend conferences within the benefits industry to stay abreast of market trends

     

 

 

Skills and Experience:

 

  • Post secondary education in a business-related field, ideally with specialization in Human Resources

     

  • A minimum of 6 years’ multifaceted experience in benefits and wellness with experience in program design and business case development for program changes

     

  • Experience developing a robust mental health strategy with measurable outcomes

     

  • Ability to read and interpret plan documents, government regulations, benefit policies and guidelines and a detailed and up-to-date knowledge of legislation pertaining to benefit programs

     

  • Excellent customer service and engagement skills

     

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail; ability to handle multiple priorities

     

  • Ability to effectively connect with all levels of the organization and influence key stakeholders

     

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to lead benefit-related processes within an HRIS system

     

  • Proven project management, organization and time management skills

     

  • Team player working collaboratively with peers; strong relationship management and interpersonal skills

     

  • Agile learner with the passion for taking on new challenges, flexible with the ability to deal with continual change

     

 

 

Nice to Have(s):

 

  • Professional designation as Certified Benefits Professional would be an asset

     

  • Bilingual in English/French would be an asset

     

  • Previous experience with HRIS, such as DayForce, Taleo, or Workday would be an asset
