Human Resources Generalist

We are currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our Human Resources team.

This position will be based in Scarborough.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for recruitment efforts, new hire orientation and onboarding, company policy and procedure adherence, benefits administration and be an active member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee. In addition, you will build strong relationships with our company's managers in order to support them with their human resource needs. 

Responsibilities

• Support all lines of business with year-round full-cycle recruitment 
• Develop and oversee onboarding and new hire orientation
• Consult with and advise managers on employee issues – performance, progressive discipline, company policy interpretation and procedures
• Run reports and analyze data; create monthly HR metrics reports
• Participate in HR programs/projects to deliver on HR initiatives
• Manage all workers’ compensation claims for each province business operates in; active member of Joint Health and Safety Committee
• Create and update job descriptions
• Oversee benefits administration; leaves of absence; STD and LTD claims
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary degree/diploma in Human Resources, Business, Retail Management
• Certification in Human Resources Management preferred (CHRP, CHRL)
• Joint Health & Safety Committee certified preferred
• Minimum 2 – 3 years comparable Human Resources Generalist experience supporting a multi-location retail organization preferred
• Proficiency with software applications in desktop environments (Microsoft Office, Ceridian Dayforce)
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality
• Committed to provide exceptional quality customer focused service
• Strong and clear verbal and written communication skills
• Able to project an enthusiastic, polite and welcoming demeanour
