Who you are:

As an integral member of the Human Resources team, you are a key contributor in acquiring, shaping and retaining talent at Ivey Business School. You will work in collaboration with the Director, Human Resources in developing and implementing talent management strategies, metrics, programs and processes, including but not limited to talent acquisition, performance management, succession planning, staff development, etc. Your aim is to attract, measure, develop and manage talent at Ivey. You’re also responsible for building and maintaining Ivey’s employment brand to help advance the market position of the school, enhance the candidate experience and depict what it is truly like to work for Ivey Business School. You’re a collaborative team player who acts professionally and with integrity and respect. You’re a partner and trusted consultant for leaders and staff on human resources-related issues and deliver value-added services that reflect the business objectives of the School.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with the Director, Human Resources to ensure alignment and integration of the Talent strategy and programs with the overall School strategy.
  • Partner with leaders to understand talent requirements, drive strategic talent priorities and provide proactive, innovative and collaborative support with recruitment, performance management, development and change management. 
  • Advise on, create and lead recruitment strategies for sourcing top talent.  
  • Manage full-life cycle talent acquisition and sourcing initiatives, from needs analysis to recruitment planning, pre-screening and interviewing, through to the offer stage, while ensuring a positive candidate experience.
  • Work with various stakeholders to support the development of Ivey’s employer branding, ensuring our employer brand is as well-known as our programs.
  • Monitor and analyze the talent market to ensure the School is competitive, providing insights that influence how we attract and retain the best talent.
  • Lead the development of talent metrics and data collection, and provide sound recommendations based on analysis and evaluation of metrics.
  • Support and enhance onboarding processes to ensure an engaging employee experience
  • Partner with Western Human Resources on all UWOSA position recruitments, ensuring all processes and any applicable Collective Agreement articles are followed.
  • Lead performance management processes and any other performance management pilot initiatives ongoing in the School.
  • Analyze the current environment and emerging knowledge needs to provide informed recommendations on talent management tools and process changes that will positively affect the School.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Human Resources, oversee the harassment and discrimination complaint process for Ivey Foundation staff, including facilitating third party investigations, alternative forms of resolution, and communicating with all parties.
  • Consult with Western Human Resources on all UWOSA performance and/or conduct concerns
  • Consult and partner with leaders and staff on a variety of human resources and employee relations issues, policies and best practices

What you have:

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development or other related discipline, ideally combined with a Human Resources designation such as CHRL or CHRP (or working towards completion).
  • Minimum five years of human resources experience, including developing recruitment and sourcing strategies, full life cycle recruitment, data analytics and metrics creation, and coaching and/or advisory experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced level sourcing and engagement skills using ATS, LinkedIn Recruiter, social media and other sources as required.
  • Ability to interact and appropriately influence at all levels of the organization, demonstrating professionalism and discretion.
  • Client service focus with an aptitude to make connections, support others and provide excellent customer service. 
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, as reflected in the ability to network in person and online.
  • A strong advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience developing and analyzing various metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects with excellent organizational skills, with ability to manage competing priorities.  
  • Advanced problem solving and decision-making skills using sound judgment to promote human resources programs and practices.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members.
  • Proven ability to take a consultative approach, build strong collaborative relationships, influence key stakeholders, and gain consensus to achieve deliverables.
  • Maintains professional development in order to stay current with various employment laws and regulations, trends, best practices and new innovations.
  • Strong computer literacy and experience with an Applicant Tracking System and HRIS.

Location: London, ON

Position Type: This is a full-time (35-hours/week) 3-year renewable contract with full benefits.

Typical Hiring Range: Based on the salary band for this role, external candidates can expect to be offered a starting salary in the range of $65,200 - $81,500. When determining salary, we consider the market, candidate experience, as well as internal equity. Once in the role, successful candidates will have the opportunity to progress through the range and beyond the hiring range of the band, through annual increases. The maximum salary for this band is approximately 20% higher than the top end of the hiring range.
