Chatters is looking to hire a HR Generalist reporting to the Senior Human Resources Manager. This newly created role will continue to evolve as it provides support and guidance to a specific client group across Canada.

The HR Generalist is responsible for providing a wide range of strategic and operational HR generalist support. The incumbent will contribute and play a key role with supporting business leaders by assisting in developing strategies to meet current and future human resource requirements and operational requirements. In addition, as the first point of contact with HR related issues, the HR generalist will provide administrative functions including HR programs, employee relations, performance management, policy and legislative compliance advice/processes, health and safety and accommodations. This role will also liaison with HR partners responsible with talent acquisition, development, compensation and benefits. The HR Generalist will manage the full employee experience from onboarding, development/growth terminations to exit interviews.

 

Some Key Responsibilities

· Manage the assigned portfolio to fully understand your clients' organizational needs and issues.

· Work with other business units and colleagues in specific human resource disciplines to identify opportunities and initiatives for improving efficiency across HR.

· Collaborate with colleagues in various HR disciplines to identify opportunities and best practices for improvement.

· Provide day to day HR guidance to Store management, District Leaders and Corporate Management providing hands-on and strategic support, insight, and advice on HR related topics stated above, including offer letters and onboarding;

· Provide HR support to clients, regarding but not limited to offer letters, terminations, leaves, accommodations, health & safety, analyze trends, provide monthly reporting/updates, supporting Business Plans and Mid-Year Reviews, and managing the HR mailbox.

· Manage and resolve employee relations issues. Conduct effective, objective and comprehensive investigations, corrective action recommendation and assists with documentation.

· Partner with business in providing leaders with tools, methodologies and overall coaching to expertly manage employees;

· Ensure utilization of employee feedback surveys and monitor workforce (Onboarding, Exit Interviews, and other feedback mechanisms)

· Participate in ongoing HR initiatives, legislative changes and projects for continuous improvement to enhance HR services to the business;

· Work closely with the benefits specialist to ensure all types of Leave of Absences are managed appropriately;

· Other various project initiatives as required, including travel across provinces;

 

Qualifications/Requirements

· Post-secondary education in Human Resources or working towards the Certified Human Resources Leader designation (CHRL) by HRPA

· Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience of relevant Human Resources experience in a Generalist Retail or manufacturing role.

· Intermediate proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).

· Maintain knowledge of progressive HR practices and trends

· Skilled at identifying the needs of the business to propose solutions and interventions

· A team player, change agent, project manager and able to manage several demanding clients simultaneously

· High level of customer service and hands on approach;

· Strong oral and written communication skills and takes initiative with minimal supervision;

· Excellent time and project management skills with the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships.

· Ability to troubleshoot and formulate a decision to resolve the issues.

· Effective organizational and interpersonal skills

· Ability to travel across provinces as needed

· Shared Services / Center of Excellence environment preferred
