This role will provide support to the Human Resources Department including, but not limited to, the following:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the onboarding of new hires by creating and maintaining employee files, processing new hire documentation, completing mentor letters, and scheduling training sessions
- Support the recruitment process (post jobs, schedule interviews, administering tests to candidates, completing reference checks, generating offer letters/packages)
- Enter data into the HRIS and the online benefits system with a high degree of accuracy
- Provide payroll backup coverage as needed
- Prepare general employment-related documents, updating presentations, and other ad-hoc requests as required
- Act as a first line contact and provide excellent internal customer service for employees and managers who have inquires relating to HR policies, procedures, benefits, and other HR related programs
- Assist with performance management processes
- Assist with the coordination and administration of key employee programs
- Proactively monitors action items and requests and follows up to ensure timely completion
- Produce and submit HR related reports
- Keep up to date with the latest HR legislation, trends and best practices
Skills and Qualifications
- Post-secondary Human Resources graduate, or a related field
- 2-4 years’ experience working in a human resources environment
- Working towards HR certification would be an asset
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with Human Resources Information System HRIS (working with UltiPro is a asset)
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and team player
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and quickly adapt to priorities
- Detail-oriented, discretion and respect for confidentiality
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A self-starter with the initiative to learn and grow professionally
