Performing all the HR duties and carrying all the functions and tasks of HR including but not limited to recruiting, interviewing, hiring new staff, on-boarding, attracting, motivating, and retaining the most qualified talent. This role would be responsible for handling employee-related services, regulatory compliance, and employee/labour relations, among many other tasks.
Responsible for ensuring that the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of human resources plans, and programs are realized.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be a point of contact for employee as well as management inquiries regarding HR policies procedures and programs and ensure that all legislated requirements are followed.
- Integrate effective HR programs and processes into daily operations.
- Organize and maintain electronic personnel files, prepare new hire packages, as well as update internal tracking documents.
- Facilitate and administer a full cycle recruitment process including updating of job descriptions, posting of advertisements, prescreening of resumes, interviewing, completing reference checks, negotiating of offers and administration of all aspects.
- Prepare and administer all onboarding and documentation for new hires.
- Assist the payroll department by providing relevant employee information (e.g. leaves of absence, sick days and work schedules as well as conduct payroll audits for the site).
- Liaison with all levels within the organization.
- Advise and coach supervisors and leadership on employee relation situations.
- Provide basic training and develop training modules as required.
- Manage and administer vacation tracking, absence management, as well as performance reviews.
- Perform internal reviews and prepare monthly HR reports for the leadership team.
- Provide advice on disciplinary process and make appropriate recommendations.
- Generate and roll out employee surveys to continually monitor the sentiment of the organization.
- Support employee engagement initiatives at the site.
- Ensure business practices adhere to human resources policies and labour laws.
- Ensure the Collective Agreement is respected and attempt to resolve any complaints prior to receiving grievances. Hold quarterly meetings with Union Representatives.
Qualification and Requirements:
- Bachelor of Commerce or Administration and/or relevant
- 5 years’ proven experience as a Human Resources Generalist
- Thorough knowledge of labour laws.
- Excellent computer and organizations skills
- Ability to prioritize important projects.
