Human Resources Generalist

The HR Generalist has exposure to all aspects of HR and plays an integral role in attracting, supporting, developing and empowering our most valuable asset, our people.  This role will partner closely with a set of client groups with responsibilities spanning various HR functions including talent acquisition, performance management, health and safety, learning and development and onboarding/off-boarding. The ideal candidate is a seasoned HR generalist or experienced HR business partner who accustomed to wearing many hats.

Responsibilities:

  • Full-cycle recruitment including developing and executing sourcing strategies, constructing job descriptions and job ads, screening resumes, candidate management in the ATS, phone screening potential candidates and drafting job offers.
  • Partner with business leaders to execute HR strategies focused on performance and talent management, training and development and employee engagement.
  • Lead annual process for performance reviews to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
  • Complete special projects and provide project management support for key initiatives to drive effective and efficient execution.
  • Maintain HR metrics including tracking and analyzing data regarding recruitment, retention, turnover and other key metrics. Derive insights and make recommendations from the analysis.
  • Manage employee lifecycle activities including onboarding, staff changes, development and off-boarding.
  • Provide support to joint health and safety committees for assigned client group, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements. Support WSIB claims management including injury reporting and facilitating early and safe return to work program.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures. Coach employees and leaders on the interpretation of HR policies.
  • Support training and development initiatives and programs including assisting leadership team with ongoing management of employee’s career path.
  • Participate in the development of diversity and inclusion initiatives and required training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

A few more qualifications which will help you with these responsibilities:

  • A bachelor’s degree preferably in Human Resources
  • 5+ years human resources generalist experience
  • Experience as business partner to specific client group
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Suite of products
  • Meticulous attention to details and highly organized
  • Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities to use time efficiently
  • Strong collaboration and team building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Knowledge of trends, best practices, legislation change and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law.
