Ability & Wellness Specialist

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, you will be responsible for the administration of the County of Essex’s wellness and disability management programs.  Specifically, this position is responsible for providing disability and rehabilitation case management services for medical accommodation requests, Workplace Safety Insurance Board (WSIB) claims, Short-term Disability (STD) claims, and Long-term disability (LTD) claims with a focus on early and safe return to work.  Additionally, this position develops and delivers employee wellness programs, initiatives, and events to promote and improve overall employee wellness.  Lastly, this position provides technical advice, guidance, direction, and recommendations to management and employees on the interpretation and application of wellness and disability management related legislation, and the County’s wellness and disability management policies, procedures, and programs.  Overall, this position plays an integral role in effectively administering the County’s wellness and disability management programs to support the commitment to providing a healthy and safe work environment.
