MANA is seeking a Full-Time Human Resources Generalist to join our team.

This is a Maternity Leave 14-Month Contract with possibility of extension to Permanent.

Job purpose

As a member of the HR team, the Human Resources Generalist provides key support in the various human resources functions which may include recruitment and selection, health and safety, learning and development and human resources administration.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee general HR administration – HRIS maintenance, employee file management, audit reporting, policy management.
  • Develop and maintain a positive and proactive relationship with department management, front-line employees, and contractors.
  • Respond supervisors/managers with day to day questions, guide through general labour relation issues, development and investigations.
  • Provide general advice on general legal compliance in all HR related topics to managers, supervisors and employees.
  • Lead recruitment efforts for salary and management positions, while overseeing hourly recruitment with the HR Coordinator to ensure appropriate staffing levels and proper onboarding.
  • Support performance management and evaluation process.
  • Prepare all counseling and discipline letters, conduct discipline meetings in conjunction with management.
  • Support termination process for both voluntary and involuntary terminations, consulting with legal as needed.
  • Assist with overseeing Health & Safety Program.
  • Co-Administer Benefits Program with Payroll & Benefits Administrator.
  • Manage the disability management program and the return to work program - WSIB/STD/LTD.

Qualifications include:

  • Post-Secondary Education in Human Resources or equivalent.
  • Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation preferred.
  • 5-10 years related experience in human resources.
  • Experience in Manufacturing industry specific would be an asset.
  • Proven ability to complete full cycle recruitment.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Employment Standards Act (ESA), WSIB and other HR related legislation.
  • Experience using Payworks and/or Navision an asset.
  • Ability to prioritize activities and multi-task in a busy work environment
  • High degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
