What you’ll do

It’s safe to say, there’s no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key responsibilities of the role:

  • Process end to end occupational and non-occupational claims and accommodations, including related administration, facilitation and record retention with internal and external partners (i.e. Human Resources departments and i.e. Insurance Carriers / Third Party Providers).
  • Ensures appropriate medically-supported workplace accommodations for Associates with illness/ /injury and or disability.  Implements work plans / agreements to ensure both a safe and sustainable return to work for Associates and cost effective disability management practices on behalf of the business
  • Acts as "go-to" person by providing guidance and counsel to team members, ensures appropriate follow up, research, recommendations, and / or escalation for complex claims / accommodations
  • Accurately maintain and update in a timely manner the systems database and record retention for all related claims, in accordance with Company reporting needs and legislative governance, especially for potential hearings and legal action
  • Provide leadership by advising, counseling, coaching and training Supervisors and Managers in the application of return to work practices and procedures

What you’ll need

To begin your career with us, you’ll have:

  • Customer service skills including effectively and efficiently responding to Associate inquiries; identifying stated and unstated customer needs; building relationships with Associates/Clients/Vendors; resolving any conflicts or problems that may arise; must be bilingual in English and French
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of claims related work experience
  • Knowledge of: Return to Work Practices, Worker’s Compensation, Human Rights Legislation, Short Term Disability and Long Term Disability practices
  • Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, database and email
