Reporting to the Manager, Total Rewards, the Senior Compensation Specialist is a key contributor to our People Strategy team and a strategic partner to the business. You are responsible for leading CAAT’s total rewards program design and development. Your primary focus includes leading compensation programs involving market research, benchmarking, analytical work, and financial modelling of annual salary review process. Critical in helping CAAT deliver on its strategic plan, you possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills, an ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally, and a critical eye for details.

Once here you will:

  • Lead and implement CAAT’s Compensation, Benefits and Total Rewards strategy
  • Create and enhance existing staff recognition and reward programs
  • Develop, deliver, and manage annual compensation salary and market review process
  • Act as a trusted partner through compensation discussions with senior leaders
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance compensation and total rewards programs
  • Provide modeling and advanced analytics on compensation and benefit initiatives
  • Create complex spreadsheet models for financial analyses
  • Maintain and update current compensation and evaluation tools and documents
  • Support compensation benchmarking (internal equity, external competitiveness)
  • Develop compensation and benefits communications, presentations, and materials to facilitate employee knowledge and understanding
  • Conduct research and analysis of market data in the design and delivery of current or new compensation programs
  • Research total rewards best practices and recommend opportunities for program improvement
  • Lead and partner with the business in job evaluation process
  • Acts as the compensation and benefits subject matter expert (SME)
  • Prepare and analyze HR reports, metrics, and analytics, and provide insights and recommendations to inform decision making in compensation and benefits
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends in global compensation & benefits programs
  • Keep abreast of industry knowledge and trends by participating in conferences and educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining professional networks, and participating in professional organizations
  • Perform other compensation and benefits work as required

Relevant experience:

  • 7+ years of HR experience managing compensation and benefits programs, policies, and processes
  • University degree in Human Resources or related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience developing and administering total rewards and benefits programs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and strong attention to details
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines and resolve complex issues
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization and manage sensitive and confidential matters with tact and professionalism
  • Expert financial modelling and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to translate data into meaningful insights and opportunities
  • Strong Excel skills (formulas, macros, pivot tables, charts) and other MS office software
  • Power BI skills are an asset
