Human Resources Officer (Term)

$83,932 to $108,369.  This is a term/contract to December 18, 2022.

Under the general direction of the Manager of Human Resources, HR Officer is responsible for overseeing the recruitment and staffing process for Secondary Teachers; supervising a team of HR staff, administering and interpreting collective agreements, OCDSB policies and procedures, and related employment legislation. You will also participate in collective bargaining and as a member of local labour management committee for this employee group, as well as provide support in the grievance process.   

Candidate Profile:
The successful candidate must have excellent leadership, judgement, conflict resolution and communication skills demonstrated in a multi-union environment.

Completion of a Bachelor’s degree specializing in Human Resources Management, along with 5 to 6 years of related management experience.  Previous school board experience is considered an asset. A Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation is required.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
