Job Details
Reporting to the Division Lead, Employee Wellness, the Employee Wellness Coordinator, Wellness Programs will take a lead role with implementing staff wellness initiatives that includes evidence based, culturally and equity proficient and responsive, leading edge programs and policies and establishing indicators of success. Provide wellness expertise to the organization through strategic planning, analysis, development, management and evaluation of Corporate Wellness Programs that support healthy lifestyle practices for all employees. Develop, promote and evaluate corporate-wide workplace wellness strategies. Key responsibilities include:
● implementing the National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace.
● leading and advising the Engaging and Healthy Workplace Committee and working with internal and external partners to develop and coordinate implementation of wellness programs.
● Recommending strategies and initiatives to management based on regulatory requirements, industry standards and organizational needs.
● Using available data to create wellness programs and initiatives; developing and reporting on program evaluation metrics related to wellness from both internal and external sources; analyzing benefit plan utilization, short term and long term disability management data to prepare program recommendations.
● In consultation with Communications creating a strategy to execute cutting edge wellness communications for staff; write communications on health related topics for distribution and posting on the Board’s employee wellbeing site; researching and remaining current on best practices and effective strategies/resources to promote Staff wellbeing.
The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary diploma/degree related to Human Resources, Health, Kinesiology, Occupational Therapy, Rehabilitation and Disability Management or a related field of study. Professional designation such as but not limited to; Disability Management Professional (CDMP), a Return to Work Coordinator (CRTWC) or Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP/L), C.O.H.N., would be considered an asset.
Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience in promoting and leading wellness programs, within a unionized environment preferred. Excellent presentation and communication skills. Experience with project management is an asset.
Experience in conducting research, including the analysis of statistical data and trends. Solid understanding of and experience in implementing CSA Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace.
Comprehensive knowledge of human resources practices and processes, legislation specific to WSIB, OHSA, Human Rights Code, Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Employment Standards Act. Demonstrated experience and commitment to working in a diverse workplace or similar environment.
