This position is responsible for Corporate Disability Management and Accommodation (Occupational and Non-Occupational Claims), Employee Return to Work, Employee & Family Assistance Program, and Workplace Wellness programs.
The successful candidate will provide expertise in the areas of:
- Occupational and Non-Occupational Claims Management and Accommodation
- Employee Assistance Program administration
- Wellness Programs (including Mental Health Programs)
- COVID-19 policy management and response
Taking a proactive and strategic approach, you will provide leadership and advice in relation to wellness initiatives and the management of complex occupational and non-occupational disability claims. Will manage highly confidential information. With a thorough knowledge of the legislation, will liaise with WSIB and other external contacts while providing support, guidance and leadership to department teams on complex files.
A Community College Diploma or a University Degree in Human Resources or related area of study. At least three (3) years’ experience in disability management and wellness experience. A certificate in Disability Management and WSIB management considered an asset. Proven skills in mediation, conflict management, and problem solving. Detail orientation, documentation skills, and experiencing using Parklane Software are an asset. Confidence in partnering with Human Resources staff, client departments, and union representation to collaboratively find solutions to complex issues. Strong knowledge of human rights, employment, and WSIB legislation.
