Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the HR Generalist will provide key support to all divisions (Service, Equipment and Finance/Head Office) within the Company. As a Business Partner you will provide support and guidance in various human resources functions which may include, learning and development, benefits, compensation and human resources administration. You will actively participate in all HR activities, cycles and processes.
Job responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a positive and proactive relationship with department management, front line employees and contractors
- Providing general human resources services to the respective businesses area managers and employee population across Canada with day to day questions, support and resolve employee relations issues, and investigations.
- Ensure the uniform and consistent application of company policies, and administering effective human relations programs that support the company’s corporate objective
- Participate in various Human Resources initiatives including policy development, job descriptions maintenance, compensation and benefits, performance management, career development, employee relations, employment equity and metrics reporting,
- Participate in the recruitment process, work with internal and external recruiter to develop a good understanding of the onboarding process, support Hiring Managers in the process
- Coordination and maintenance of employee data and files
- Provide general advice on general legal compliance in all HR related topics to managers, employees and supervisors
- Updates employee data in People Center and ADP Workforce now, work closely with payroll
- Co-Administrator the employee Group Health Benefits – Answer routine benefits questions for managers and employees. Act as a liaison between employees and insurance carriers to resolve problems and clarify benefits.
- Administer & supervise worker’s compensation & employee disability claims-ensure that all necessary forms and documentation are completed for any worker’s compensation claims, or short term or long-term disability claims. Ensure that all parties are kept informed, and that proper follow up is conducted, working with managers on the employees’ early & safe return to work.
- Support termination process for both voluntary and involuntary terminations, consulting with Manager of HR
- Key User for the internal HRIS, and other internal systems
