The Position: 

As part of the in-house team, the Human Resources Advisor will provide advisory services to senior leaders in organizations that are facing organizational and talent management challenges. The advisor will identify practical solutions and lead the facilitation of HR programs for Teal & Co.’s existing and prospective clients. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Deliver client-facing subject matter expertise in HR and talent strategy through consulting, project management, workshop facilitation and presentations – providing advice and guidance to clients that meets Teal’s quality service standards
  • Ability to deliver large scale Talent Strategy projects and initiatives on time and on budget
  • Provide business development support through responding to RFPS, developing project scope, work plans, timing and cost estimates to deliver Teal’s customized solutions 
  • Identify business opportunities through internal and external networks
  • Lead strategic HR implementation projects that put recommendations into action
  • Lead and support a full range of human resources operations for our clients, such as: workforce planning and organizational design including all aspects of job documentation for job evaluation purposes, talent management, employee & labour relations, occupational health and safety and HR reporting & analysis
  • Provide support on Leadership Development and Performance Management programs
  • Research and contribute to thought leadership and innovative program content development, including custom workshops and strategic alignment solutions
  • Explore opportunities for continuous improvements of internal operations and processes 

Education, Experience, Skills and Competencies

  • Post-secondary education (a focus in Business Administration, Human Resources, Psychology Industrial Relations or Adult Education is an asset)
  • Professional designation in HR is required (CHRP and/or CHRL)
  • A minimum of 10 years of Human Resources management and advisory experience with a solid understanding of employee relations, organizational design, employee engagement and workforce planning
  • Experience in developing and implementing change management strategies and managing complex human resources and business transformation projects
  • Proven experience, knowledge and skills in successful project or engagement management with the ability to plan and execute projects and client deliverables on time 
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment 
  • Experience in management consulting is an asset 
  • Experience in designing and implementing competency frameworks, organizational learning and development strategies 
  • Exceptional presentation and facilitation skills 
  • Knowledgeable and familiar with best practices in research methodology 
  • Experience in leading an HR function or team is an asset  
  • Genuinely curious and passionate about Human Resources and the impact on business
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial and flexible work environment and adapt to changes 
  • Able to navigate complex topics and create frameworks that can be implemented to provide clients with practical solutions to HR challenges
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound judgement and make informed decisions
