MANAGER, PEOPLE RESOURCES

Baxter’s Bakery is a fast-growing family owned and operated bakery with production facilities in Toronto, Scarborough and Cobourg, Ontario. Everything we bake is made with care and attention to detail, using only the finest ingredients available, giving all our products their delicious homemade flavor. Based on our growth and continued diversification, we are ready for the next step in our development with the addition of a Manager, People Resources. We aim to hire the best people, foster continuous personal growth and enhance the overall team experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement programs to support long-term people and team development
  • Manage all aspects of recruitment, on-boarding, safety and training
  • Drive culture change needed to achieve business objectives including leader effectiveness and employee engagement to improve productivity and responsiveness
  • Provide advice and guidance to the management team in all areas of People Resources
  • Ensure compliance with the Ontario Health & Safety Act, Employment Standards Act and all pertinent legislation as well as the continued development of the Health and Safety Committee
  • Coordinate effective communication and ensure compliance of policies and procedures and mandatory training
  • Partner with the WSIB to manage WCB claims and provide education to supervisors and managers
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across all levels of the organization with both internal and external customers

 

Qualifications:

  • University degree/diploma in Human Resources
  • Minimum of seven (7) years progressive experience
  • Well-developed communication skills
  • Must have a clear and detailed understanding of Ontario employment law
  • Excellent organizational skills, as well as strong attention to detail
  • Must have experience dealing within a union and non-union environment
