ABOUT THE JOB

As Human Resources Generalist, you will lead and execute our talent acquisition function, supporting the employee life cycle from hire, onboarding, and orientation to ongoing engagement of staff and offboarding. Working closely with the Human Resources Director, you will also work on the implementation and continuous improvement of various HR programs, processes, and initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • • Support hiring managers throughout the recruitment and selection process to ensure the RCM is attracting and selecting the right talent by ensuring the following:    
    • Job descriptions are created, updated, and evaluated
    • Execute the hire approval process
    • Collaborate with hiring managers to determine hiring strategy and process steps
    • Participate in the interview process
    • Ensure references and any other required background checks are completed
    • Finalize offer letters and negotiations as required
  • Review job descriptions and evaluate positions, analyse internal and external market data in order to provide appropriate job grades and compensation recommendations for review and approval.
  • Manage the Applicant Tracking System.
  • Lead and support improvements to the new hire orientation program, including conducting orientation sessions for admin and faculty new hires.
  • Develop reports and data to provide recommendations related to people analytics and key performance indicators relevant to HR.
  • Work closely with the HR Coordinator to ensure onboarding of new hires is completed on a timely basis.
  • Conduct exit interviews during the offboarding process.
  • Provide employees with guidance on the interpretation of HR policies, programs, legislation, and employee relations matters.
  • Collaborate with the VP and Director of HR in contributing to development of HR practices, programs, and resources, and is responsible for the execution as directed.
  • Enhance employee engagement, collaboration, and culture at the RCM through social activities and providing resources, i.e. social committee, various perks and discounts, etc.
  • Remain informed of trends and innovative recruiting techniques in order to develop competitive and cost-effective sourcing strategies.


EXPERIENCE

  • Undergraduate degree, with an HR major or a post-grad certificate; at least 3 years of progressive HR generalist experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 
  • Completed CHRP or CHRL designation.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems, talent market resources and job boards, i.e. LinkedIn.
  • Facility with MS Office 365 and experience using cloud based HRIS platforms.


COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with full cycle talent acquisition and management.
  • Broad knowledge of HR practices, policies and related employment legislation.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills, including facilitation and presentation delivery skills.
  • Demonstrates high level of customer service. Ability to influence and quickly gain credibility as a subject matter expert and business partner.
  • High degree of integrity, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information. 
  • Detail oriented and has solid organizational, with the ability to manage priorities, drive results and meet deadlines.
