We are currently recruiting for the following position: Human Resources Generalist

Position Profile

As part of Mohawk Medbuy’s Human Resources Team, the Human Resources Generalist provides a full range of value-add Human Resources services to a portfolio of clients within Mohawk Medbuy Corporation.

The successful applicant will contribute to the continuing success of Mohawk Medbuy Corporation by building positive collaborative relationships throughout the company and contributing to the development of creative and innovative strategies and initiatives that are aligned with the organization’s strategic direction.

Acting as a business partner, the Human Resources Generalist will be responsible in providing a full range of HR services in the areas of recruitment and retention, employee and labour relations, training and development, compensation & benefits and legislative compliance employee and labour relations, recruitment, compensation & benefits, absence & disability management, and reporting. 

The Human Resources Generalist serves as a champion for promoting and delivering HR programming and initiatives that are compliant with legislation, organizational policies and that help foster a positive employee experience.

Major Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Act as a valuable resource to the management team for a designated portfolio by providing expertise, guidance, and coaching in all areas of human resources, including employee and labour relations, performance management, attendance management, disability management, recruitment and retention, compensation and benefits, pay equity, legislative compliance, etc.
  • Responsible for full cycle recruitment including developing and implementing practices and procedures that attract and retain the best candidates, ensuring a fair and transparent process, and supporting hiring managers to in fill vacancies in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Serve as a strategic HR business partner for management providing consultation, coaching and guidance on all HR initiatives in the organization.
  • Support the implementing and management of initiatives that support the desired organizational culture.
  • Nurture a positive work, creative and collaborative work environment.
  • Work closely with leadership at all locations to identify and resolve HR issues as they arise while promoting positive employee/management relations in carrying out day-to-day HR services and support.
  • Identify and address issues/trends that may affect the overall health of the organization including morale, turnover, absenteeism, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Support the development and management of an effective compensation strategy. 
  • Develop, recommend, and implement employee engagement strategies and initiatives that drive business results.
  • Keep up to date and ensure compliance with various HR related legislative requirements, on employment laws and emerging trends.
  • Conduct timely employee investigations and prepare reports including findings and recommendations.
  • Research and recommend updates to existing, and the creation of new HR policies and procedures in keeping with HR best practices.
  • Identify training needs and implement, including providing staff training as appropriate in support of effective onboarding, employee and management training and development and to meet compliance requirements.
  • Create and provide reports, including KPI’s metrics as required.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate has the following experience, skills, competencies and attributes:

  • University Degree, relevant program of studies in Human Resources Management or recognized equivalent work experience.
  • CHRP, CHRL or CTDP designation required (or working towards).   
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a generalist Human Resources capacity or other relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of legislative and professional guidelines
  • Understands and is able to apply professional guidance and regulations to problems of selection system development and implementation
  • Knowledge of research methods and policy formulation; knowledge of benefits administration, pay administration, position classification, and salary surveying; knowledge of personnel selection, validation, performance appraisal, and return-to-work accommodation requirement
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required, ADP an asset
  • Ability to appropriately plan and organize; administer and prioritize; monitor and evaluate the work flow of projects activities
  • Strong customer focus and service orientation with an ability to build and maintain last relationships with executive team, management and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentations
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships across the organization
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making skills
  • Good negotiation and influencing skills
  • Results oriented

Location:

  • Burlington office
  • Regular travel to alternate sites (Hamilton, London, and Brantford).
