Reporting to the Director, HR Services with a dotted line reporting to the Director, PMO, Service Excellence, the HRBP will provide comprehensive human resource support to the Service Excellence Program (SEP) for the University. Significant emphasis will be job architecture, job standardization and digitization of HR process to support the HR stream priorities. SEP is a three-year implementation program of process redesign, culture change and operational improvement, introducing sector best practice approaches to administrative service improvements. The SEP will transform how York interacts and works to facilitate student, faculty, and staff success through improved service quality, strengthened service culture and simpler, faster, more efficient services. The University has made a significant financial investment in this program as it will involve and impact the entire university community and will provide transformed business processes, structures, and a service delivery infrastructure. The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for providing a wide range of strategic and operational HR generalist support. The incumbent will contribute and play a key role in workforce planning as part of the strategic planning process, in preparing job evaluations and in supporting the development of strategies to meet current and future human resources and operational requirements. As the first contact for HR related issues, the HRBP provides support on a range of HR functions including talent acquisition and development, labour relations support, legislative, policy and collective agreement compliance advice, performance management, health and safety and accommodations. The HRBP is a champion of the University's priorities of equity diversity, inclusion, sustainability.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:

Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field. Completed Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) certification. Note: Position requires verification of degree(s)/credential(s). Minimum 3 years related experience. Experience administering and applying collective bargaining agreements and related HR policies, legislation, and regulations. Experience in continuous improvement and change management.
