Talent Development Specialist (Talent Management)

About the Role:

Reporting to the Director, Talent Development, you will be responsible for design, development and delivery of programs in employee engagement, career development, performance development, talent review & succession planning areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end planning and delivery of the quarterly engagement survey process; including data file transfer, responding to employee inquiries and liaising with vendor to trouble-shoot technical problems; preparing senior leadership reports; design and deliver resources to support leaders in taking action on engagement results; provide training support to leaders in understanding their results and taking action
  • Build, promote, and sustain a robust career development program and supporting resources; including the support and promotion of usage of resources, such as Corus Café (Ten Thousand Coffees); QuickCoach, etc.
  • Manage the talent review/succession planning process to ensure consistent scheduling of business units, preparation/consolidation of documentation and follow up of development planning
  • Support annual Performance Through Partnership process
  • Support research on program development needs through periodic employee focus groups, interviews, surveys; conduct research into HR and Talent best practices to support and inform the development of programs/initiatives
  • Monitor program effectiveness and adoption through program usage reporting and recommend improvements and solutions
  • Ensure organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders leveraging a variety of internal communications channels, including employee intranet and email communications
  • Work closely and develop effective relationships with external program delivery partners
  • Effectively manage vendor partner programs and resources to ensure additional costs are not incurred

About You

What We Need From You:     

  • Bachelor’s degree in Adult Learning, Human Resources, Organizational Development or other related field. Additional relevant education, certification, or designation an asset
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience as a Talent Development and/or, Learning/Leadership/OD Development professional or in a similar capacity
  • Experience with employee engagement survey processes
  • Experience in designing, implementing and managing strategic programs including Career Development, Talent Review/Succession Planning, Leadership Development, and Performance Management
  • Experience with designing and delivering in-person and virtual presentations and learning sessions
  • Strong project management skills; experience managing multiple programs and projects at the same time
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Power Point, Share Point, Teams, advanced Excel and Outlook), SharePoint and other software
