Job Details
The purpose of this role is to design applicable Human Resources Systems with a global application mindset, supporting the creation of a culture where our employees want the company to succeed. The following HR Systems will be under the scope of this role: Onboarding & Offboarding, Mergers & Acquisitions, Discipline, Fair Treatment, Employee Relations, Camp Services and Removal from Role. This role will report directly to our Director, Human Resources in Canada.
Responsibilities include:
- Support the Team Leaders in creating the desired culture.
- Human Resources Systems design and implementation in all the countries where we operate.
- Manage the Onboarding and Offboarding system across our organization, to ensure a great experience at Orla.
- Advise labor relations teams in countries where we operate regarding union strategy, relationships, and negotiations.
- Analyze Removal from Role cases based on criteria established in the system and provide recommendation to team leaders.
- Provide guidance and advice on discipline decisions at corporate office. Member of the Global Discipline Committee
- Acts as head of the fair treatment committee, leading the analysis and decision making regarding a fair treatment case.
- Provide advice to local Camp Services teams in overall living experience in our camps. Establish a consistent standard for camp services including lodging, food, and transportation
- Provide training and advice to Team Leaders in the application of our HR Systems.
- Quarterly reporting on employee relations matters: Collective Bargaining Agreements, Union relations, etc.
- Coordinate and provide support to HR areas as required in the design or implementation of HR Systems and activities.
- Support our HR teams across the organization on Employee Relations matters.
- Build/maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to support a productive culture.
Skills and Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations or related field.
- At least 5 years in HR Management roles within the mining industry or similar industries.
- Strong management and leadership skills.
- Ability to collaborate within a management team.
- Experience negotiating Collective Bargaining Agreements and creating union management infrastructure
- Knowledge of Canadian Labor law is required, Mexican and Panamanian desired
- Experience in unionized environments.
- Experience working in Corporations with operations in different countries.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly desired
- Strong communication, organization, process improvement, and project management skills.
