The opportunity

At Ontario Teachers’ we believe that one of the most important decisions we can make is who we hire. We are looking for a seasoned Talent Acquisition professional to join our team and partner with our Hiring Managers to support them through this critical decision. In this role, your main focus will be on the identification, assessment and hire of technology professionals across a number of divisions including Enterprise Operations, Finance and Pension Administration or Member Services.

Who you'll work with

Reporting to our Global Talent Acquisition Lead, as a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will have a network of talented colleagues to partner with globally. You will have the opportunity to build upon your craft and be a trusted Advisor as we continue to evolve Talent Acquisition practices aligned to our Enterprise Strategy 3.0.

What you'll do

  • Develop a keen understanding of Ontario Teachers’ and assigned business teams, operating model, culture, services, and pension industry to understand the unique needs for each position.

     

  • Develop strong, collaborative relationships with key internal partners and work with our People Advisory Services team and Hiring Managers to develop and drive effective hiring strategies.

     

  • Bring a consultative approach to recruitment, advising clients throughout the recruitment and selection process, sourcing strategies, market mapping and developing key relationships.

     

  • Be a champion for continuous learning, experimentation and share industry insights with the team.

     

  • Ensure recruitment strategies align with our Inclusion and Diversity goals, partner with external organizations and attend key events.

     

  • Manage external agency partnerships including contract negotiations, setting timelines and benchmarking. Generate a solid pipeline of candidates through creative strategies such as: employee referral campaigns, proactive searches, online posting boards, agencies and direct sourcing and industry/campus events.

     

  • Manage full cycle recruitment including: pre-screening, assessing, interviewing, and selecting the most qualified candidate. Providing an unbiased perspective on potential candidates.

     

  • Create and implement recruitment campaigns that improve Ontario Teachers’ image/presence as an Employer of Choice in order to attract high calibre candidates.

     

  • Responsible for promoting to candidates the opportunities while maintaining realistic expectations of the roles.

     

  • Ensure reference checks and other selection strategies are completed (math and technical testing, case studies, bilingual testing etc).

     

  • Provide mentorship to hiring managers as it relates to compensation, level and position title to both external hires and internal promotions to ensure internal equity is maintained.

     

  • Be a brand ambassador for our organization and provide a positive candidate experience by embodying our values.

     

  • Carry out special projects and provide support to Regional colleagues as required.

What you'll need

  • You have a real passion for recruitment and a curiosity to learn!

     

  • Bachelors’ degree in a related field (e.g. Human Resources, Business Administration).

     

  • 6-8 years’ experience of full cycle technology recruitment in a corporate and agency environment.

     

  • Experience in Financial Services /Investments recruitment is strongly preferred

     

  • You have excellent collaboration and communication skills (both oral and written).

     

  • A desire to work in a rapidly changing environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy, attention to detail and timeliness.

     

  • Strong service orientation, high energy and work towards exceeding expectations and providing an incredible candidate experience.

     

  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, negotiation, persuasion and decision-making skills.

     

  • Knowledge of pertinent labour legislation i.e., Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, Employment Equity, Ontario Labour Relations Act.

     

  • Experience in a unionized environment is considered an asset with a keen desire to understanding the Collective Agreement and our policies and procedures.

     

  • Knowledge and experience with Workday Recruiting is an asset.
