The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a Global compensation and performance leader who exhibits a passion for the development and execution of organizational compensation strategies. As a critical priority of the Teachers 3.0 enterprise strategy, this role will have a direct opportunity to contribute to the strategic thought leadership, development and implementation, governance, branding and communications of a Global Compensation and Rewards strategy, demonstrated by global experience.

Who you'll work with

As a member of our award-winning People & Culture team, reporting to the Managing Director, Global Total Rewards, you will partner with the People & Culture Leadership Team (PCLT) and global senior leaders to build and implement high quality, comprehensive compensation program and practices that are aligned with our Rewards purpose, goals, priorities. You will also have responsibility for a team of hardworking Compensation professionals.

What you'll do

  • Provide strategy and thought leadership to the direction of Rewards and Compensation programs for Teachers’.
  • Recommend, lead, provide advice and implement compensation programs, in alignment with the Teachers’ Strategy and culture imperatives, and in response to business needs.
  • Coordinate and lead planning efforts which include third-party benchmarking and tapping into global external trends/insights to identify gaps and support recommendations.
  • Seek opportunities for enhanced engagement or entrepreneurial ventures to support the performance, rewards, and recognition of employees.
  • Provide oversight to salary, annual incentive, performance assessments, long-term incentive, deferred incentive program and policies across 6+ countries including tax effectiveness and compliance.
  • Lead a team of Compensation professionals and provides coaching and development to the broader Global Total Rewards team.
  • Is responsible for communications and marketing efforts associated with all aspects of “rewards” in support of the overall value proposition.
  • Responsible for the annual compensation disclosure, including Compensation Analysis & Discussion and associated disclose in the Financial Statements.
  • Prepare quarterly updates and annual executive report that summarize initiatives, outcomes and value.
  • Manage relevant external providers (benchmarking, compensation consultants, etc.)
  • Support the enterprise with the risk assessment and reporting of talent risks.
  • Drive technology changes required to support total rewards data and drive self-service reporting for business leaders.

What you'll need

  • University degree, preferably in a mathematical discipline
  • 10 to 15 years of compensation & rewards experience globally; additional experience across Total Rewards considered an asset.
  • Deep technical current knowledge of compensation and performance practices, processes, and policies.
  • Current and evolving knowledge of Rewards practices and approaches, global trends, issues, and market leading practices including the design, development and direction of related programs and services.
  • Demonstrated experience leading high performance teams including the coaching and development of direct reports.
  • Strong business acumen including an understanding of business strategies, competitive challenges and the financial impact of HR decisions.
  • Strategic innovative thinking and decision-making skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused mind-set are essential
  • Solutions focused with a simple and practical approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (oral and written), with the ability to address individual perspectives of those you are advising.
  • Proven ability to build and implement short-and long-term strategic objectives; empower and develop staff; effectively lead resources; and cultivate strong collaborative relationships.
  • Comfortable presenting, articulating strategy and points of view from both in front and behind the scenes.
  • Demonstrable experience in change management principles related to the execution of global strategy.
  • Proven track record of success and commitment to working with issues related to diversity, equity and inclusion.
