Job Description
Reporting to the Manager, Total Rewards and Payroll, this role is responsible for the development and implementation of WCH’s compensation, benefits and recognition strategy, policies, and processes by researching market trends, analyzing competitive compensation survey data, conducting modeling, and making recommendations for program improvements.

•Supports the transition of HR strategy and policies into practical and effective compensation and benefit solutions including communications and system changes.
•Management of the salary administration process for both unionized and non-unionized staff
•Manage participation in various salary surveys and provide analysis of data with recommendations for both compensation and benefits
•Responsible for providing key scorecard indicators related to total rewards
•Manage annual ‘Sunshine List’ salary disclosure process
•Regularly reviews and updates compensation and benefits documentation to ensure information is clear, concise and up to date.
•Key participant in the job evaluation process
•Applies pay equity knowledge and participates in reviews to ensure that Women’s College Hospital continues to maintain pay equity for all employee groups.
•Management of extended health & dental, Life, LTD, AD&D contracts providing recommendations on benefit enhancements and cost savings
•Identifies data integrity issues that appear through compensation and benefits analysis, recommending solutions where issues arise.
•Provides support for training, policy, communications related to compensation and benefits
•Regularly reviews and updates compensation and benefits documentation to ensure information is clear, concise and up to date.
•Conducts regular audits to ensure the integrity of the payroll system and processing of information (e.g. regularly monitors that managers approve payroll, regular payroll register audits, etc.)
•Conducts internal surveys and participates in external surveys on compensation and benefits, leading analysis and recommendations.
•Participates in creation/extraction, analysis and reporting of people-oriented data and information on a regular and ad hoc basis in support of system processes, maintenance and updates.
•Manage the Recognition Program, recommending process improvements and design changes

Qualifications
•Degree in Human Resources, or relevant degree and related experience
•Minimum three (3) to five (5) years’ experience as an HR professional in a unionized workplace
•Professional certification (CHRP or CEBS or CCP) is preferred
•Previous experience working in compensation and benefits management in a hospital or healthcare environment would be a key asset
•Knowledge of Ontario Employment Standards Act, WSIB, Human Rights Code, Labour Relations Act, Pay Equity Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act
•Advanced skills in analysis, decision making, and consultation
•Compensation, benefits, and job evaluation knowledge required
•Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
•Proven organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work under pressure with minimal direction
•Demonstrated ability to work with diverse employee groups
•Intermediate computer skills (HRIS, Outlook, Microsoft Office – Work, Excel, including pivot tables, vlookups, and PowerPoint)
•Demonstrated record of good performance and acceptable attendance will be considered as part of the selection criteria
•Professional behaviour and communication that meets the standards of the professional regulatory college or association, as applicable, and the standards of Women’s College Hospital
•This position plays a critical role in acting as an advocate for safety and will demonstrate principles, practices and processes that will optimize a safe environment for all
