The incumbent will act as an employee relations resource, managing performance plans, consulting on disciplinary issues, and investigating workplace incidents/accidents.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Act as the first point of contact for employees and management with respect to HR related matters, liaising with other HR groups and Centers of Excellence as needed.

  • Provide guidance to assigned client groups regarding HR Policies and procedures, performance management, employee relations, and employment legislation

  • Support HR Managers in collaborating with client managers to resolve employee relations concerns, including performance management, disciplinary action (including terminations) and workplace investigations, in alignment with legislative requirements.

  • Manage workplace accident cases and support the disability management team with more complex cases and accommodation requests.

  • Active member of the Health & Safety Committee.

  • Produce and translate various ad hoc letters as required.

 

Minimum position requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related discipline;

  • 3-5 years of work experience in HR with previous work experience acting in an HR generalist capacity is highly preferred

  • Overall knowledge of HR including reward principles, performance management principles, career development, compensation, H&S and disability management

  • Strong knowledge of Canadian provincial employment legislation

  • Fluent in French and English (reading, writing, and verbal)

  • Demonstrated presentation, facilitation and communication skills
