We seek to enhance our team through the recruitment of an experienced high potential individual to the role of Manager, Talent Management and Leadership Development.

The Manager, Talent Management and Leadership Development is responsible for defining the organization’s talent strategy focused on building and developing strength through succession planning, employee engagement and leadership development to drive business results. The Manager, Talent Management and Leadership Development will cultivate and maintain relationships with HR Business Partners, Business Leaders and other key stakeholders focused on building diverse talent pipelines, providing expertise and consultation to help ensure that talent management and leadership development programs are meeting the needs of the business.

This is a permanent, full-time position which offers a competitive benefits, compensation and pension package and is located on site in Tiverton, Ontario and will report to the Director, Human Resources within our Human Resources function.

What will you be responsible for?

The Manager, Talent Management and Leadership Development is responsible for defining the organization’s Talent Management and Leadership Development strategy focused on building and developing strength through succession planning, performance management, employee engagement and leadership development to drive business results. The Manager, Talent Management and Leadership Development will develop and maintain relationships with HR Business Partners, Business Leaders  and other key stakeholders to provide expertise and consultation to help ensure that talent management and leadership development programs are meeting the needs of the business.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Define and lead talent management and leadership development initiatives, including talent reviews, succession planning, performance management, employee engagement strategy and leadership development for the organization to develop and retain current and future leaders across the organization
  • Implement talent management and leadership development trends and best practices within all program areas
  • Consider and introduce creative learning modalities conducive to adult learners in both in-person and virtual environments
  • Foster a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion in talent management and leadership development programs
  • Mentor and develop the talent management and leadership development team by providing coaching and career development opportunities to ensure continuous improvement of the team.
  • Partner with the HR Business Partners to understand the needs of the business and seek input into all talent management and leadership development programs across the organization
  • Oversee and lead the design, development and implementation of all leadership development programs
  • Creates talent-related metrics/dashboards to proactively monitor talent and leadership development program health
  • Assess and evaluate the impact and effectiveness of all leadership development programs

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge and experience developing and delivering high quality talent management and leadership development programs
  • Knowledge and experience with the 70/20/10 model for learning and development and adult learning principles
  • Knowledge and experience with Talent and Leadership Assessment tools
  • Experience developing strategies that align with functional HR strategy to execute and ensure the availability of resources
  • Strong analytical skills and creative problem solving ability to support design of innovative solutions to meet the needs of the business
  • Experience in leading and developing a team with a strong focus on team engagement and individual performance
  • Must have the ability to provide clear direction quickly and on-demand, work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities; formal presentation and facilitation skills
  • High personal standards of integrity and the ability to handle highly sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required in Business Administration, Human Resources or other related discipline
  • CHRP/CHRL designation is considered an asset
  • Six to eight years of progressive HR experience, including experience designing and delivering leadership development programs is required
