Position Summary

Are you up for a challenge? Do you have experiencing across a wide variety of organizational functions? As a vertically integrated company, Flow has two manufacturing facilities and accompanying Production, Quality Assurance and Logistics Teams located in Aurora, Ontario and Verona, Virginia; Marketing and E-Commerce Teams (mostly) located in New York City; Sales Professionals across North America; Finance and Accounting Teams (mostly) located in Ottawa; and a head office in the Junction in Toronto.

Having recently listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, we need our Human Resources Team to help guide our strategic vision, develop, communicate and implement our rapidly maturing compensation and retention strategies, hone our existing HR Policies, navigate the ever-changing guidance of COVID-19 and guide the Executive Team on best HR practices.

Reporting to the Legal Department, the Human Resources Director will be responsible for developing, managing, and executing strategic HR initiatives and improving operational HR activities. The HR Director will be a key strategic business partner within the organization and will be instrumental to the success of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic HR
  • Develop and champion the framework linking HR initiatives to company-wide goals and objectives
  • Embed diversity, equity and inclusion into our company culture
  • Develop the KPIs required to align with long-term goals
  • Monitor and analyze HR metrics, complete trends analysis to identify gaps, develop standards, programs and policies in order to contribute to the overall objectives of a cohesive HR strategy
  • Advise the Executive Team in the development and management of effective compensation plans and retention strategies to ensure competitiveness, budget efficiency and pay equity
  1. Operational HR
  • Partner with Flow’s leadership team to plan and implement all HR initiatives and policies
  • With the assistance of the Legal Department, develop, implement and update HR Policies, practices and procedures to ensure compliance with all legal requirements
  • Manage benefits and benefit premium contribution renewal processes in Canada and the United States
  • Oversee and execute full-cycle recruitment and succession planning
  • Manage and oversee compensation and benefits administration
  • Implement, promote, and maintain a robust performance management system
  • Conduct workplace investigations and prepare ensuing reports
  • Execute and/or execute disciplinary or termination procedures
  • Manage existing Human Resources Information Systems

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in a professional HR role
  • Completion of a 4-year post-secondary degree
  • Minimum CHRL designation
  • Demonstrated experience in building and managing an HR team
  • Knowledge of employment laws in Canada (Ontario)
  • Knowledge of employment laws in the United States an asset
  • Experience with Ceridian’s Workforce Management platform
