This Human Resources Generalist position will serve as a strategic partner to deliver an end-to-end employee experience that drives retention and growth for CONSOR's Canada team. The HRG will provide a best-in-class employee experience through manager and employee coaching, developing and implementing strategic HR initiatives, ensuring consistent compliance with policies and regulations, advising on compliance issues, and driving employee engagement and development initiatives.

Typical Essential Duties/Responsibilities.

  • Manage the full-cycle employee experience and relationship, from offer, screening, onboarding, reviews, skill enhancement, career development, and exit
  • Ensure regulatory compliance relative to the day-to-day management of employees within the assigned group, collaborating with HR team as needed
  • Facilitate talent-related change management activities. Evaluates the impact of proposed changes on employees; advises the client groups on alternatives and change mitigation. 
  • Facilitate annual performance cycle, talent review, and succession and development planning, ensuring follow-up programs are delivered.
  • Coach and consult supervisors and leaders within the region on best employment practices, talent management, employee engagement, employee development, etc. so they can better lead the organization to meet established business targets
  • Coach and support managers in the development of performance improvement plans; provide one-on-one support as needed
  • Mediate and resolve employee issues, discern when to elevate risk-related employment and employee relation issues to CPO and compliance team; assist with thorough and objective investigations in concert with the compliance team when necessary
  • Serve as the interface with employees and provide top-notch employee assistance in line with CONSOR’s culture and core values; adhere to our 24-hour or less response goal
  • Complete compliance actions and reporting to meet Ontario and Federal labour regulations (AODA, OHRC, Ontario ESA, etc.), facilitate policy and handbook development / updates, and implement approved policies and practices
  • Assist with other assigned functions

Guidance/Supervision.

  • Works under the general direction of Director of Employee Experience
  • Review of completed work for the application of sound professional judgement

Competencies.

  • HR certification, such as CHRP, etc.
  • Able to deliver exceptional HR service to employees, management teams, and other corporate service groups
  • Seen as a ‘team player’ with a consultative style and ability to exercise a high degree of professionalism and diplomacy in interactions with all levels of the organization in a matrixed team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the experience of making presentations, conducting training, and partnering with a broad HR team on special projects
  • Strong expertise in US employment law, compliance, and managing sensitive investigations
  • Excellent follow through skills and the ability to anticipate and address business needs proactively
  • Ability to maintain perspective, balance, and focus through challenges, uncertainty, and change
  • Ability to work on own initiative, with the ability to prioritize and remain calm under pressure
  • Technology oriented with well-developed computer skills including email and MS Office – Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
  • Extremely detailed oriented with highly accurate data entry skills
  • High degree of professionalism, adaptability, integrity, and commitment to confidentiality
  • Ability to act strategically, make sound decisions, and work in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment

Safety/Physical/Mental Requirements.

  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record per CONSOR policy and insurance requirements
  • Perform work safely and follow CONSOR’s Safety Manual
  • Near & far vision - Ability to see details at close range and at a distance
  • Speech clarity & recognition – Ability to speak clearly to be understood; Ability to understand the speech of others
  • Use of computers for high volume, accurate data entry
