Key Accountabilities:

  • Act as an advisor and coach to managers on talent practices, policies, and processes to support their ability to manage change, facilitate excellence and an engaged workforce
  • Partner with Finance and Decision Support to ensure understanding of business issues and data for purposes of vacancy management and broader workforce planning initiatives
  • Support performance management process through coaching managers on best practices in performance goal setting, coaching and feedback, and documentation, including performance improvement plans and career development
  • Support leadership development through application of the LEADS capability framework
  • Support organizational succession planning through facilitation of front-line level talent reviews within designated client group 
  • Support recognition program operations and participate in Exit and Stay Interview processes, in support of the recognition and retention strategies
  • Provide full-cycle recruitment services in support of the talent acquisition strategy and collective bargaining agreements
  • Track and analyze talent metrics, including recruitment sourcing strategies and marketing campaigns
  • Develop and implement continuous quality improvement initiatives regarding talent practices and processes
  • Prepare and present at labour relations meetings with Manager, HR Operations and/or the Union, related to recruitment clauses of the collective agreement.
  • Performs all work at all times in compliance with all hospital policies and procedures and legislation (Occupational Health &Safety Act, Fire Code, WHMIS, etc.) relevant to health and safety, security (including relational/therapeutic security) and potential risk hazards, and in particular, “duties of the worker” as defined in Section 28 of the OH&S Act.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education at the Bachelor’s degree level
  • Specialized training/education in the human resources management function, or specialized area of organizational development/effectiveness, leadership development, and training and development
  • 5 to 8 years’ experience working in the Human Resources function, talent management and/or organizational development setting
  • Interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to establish and maintain effective relationships with a wide variety of staff, manager, partners and external contacts 
  • Leadership and teamwork skills to support, coach, direct, mentor and teach activities to clinical staff
  • Analytical thinking skills in order to monitor, assess and implement programs and address operational needs
  • Change management skills to promote, support and implement change in line with the hospital strategic directions
  • Results oriented work ethic to work independently and undertake tasks needed to accomplish work objectives and deliver quality, consistent and timely results
  • Model and promote core ethical practices and Waypoint Values with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Preference for proficiency in French/English
