HR Manager

The HR Manager will work with senior leaders and their respective teams to define and implement people strategies that are aligned with VDG’s plans to grow and evolve the organization. This is a senior role which requires a broad knowledge of human resources including organization development, employee relations, performance management, compensation administration, succession planning, talent acquisition, training and development, information management and reporting. The ideal candidate will bring a unique generalist background across all functional areas of HR to drive organization effectiveness and enable business results to support our Canadian and US operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management
  • Must have CHRL, CHRP Certification
  • 5 - 7 years of Human Resources Management experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • In depth knowledge of US benefit administration including FSA, 401K and COBRA
  • Previous experience and thorough understanding with Payroll, Benefits, Compensation administration, Employee Relations practices, and problem resolution.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce an asset

 

Duties:

 

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of HR requirements through effective communication, critical thinking, and foster healthy employee relations.
  • Responsible for ensuring that human resources functions, including recordkeeping, talent acquisition, promotions, terminations, etc. are all conducted in accordance with Company procedures and applicable legal requirements.
  • Review and manage performance reviews, pay equity, compensation, bonus, and benefits programs including Cobra, FSA, 401K for US locations.
  • Work in conjunction with the Legal Counsel and the President in representing the company in legal HR matters that may arise.
  • Work closely with various departments, facilities, and supervisors in structuring and developing their respective teams to maximize performance and employee engagement.
  • Responsible for executing programs such as employee engagement, recognition, training, company events.
  • Actively lead and manage the occupational health and safety programs.
  • Stay up to date with Canadian/US laws and employee legislation requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Occasional travel to other facilities in the USA Performs other job duties as required.
  • This is a fully on-site role reporting to our Brampton office
