The Centre Block Rehabilitation program is the largest, most complex heritage rehabilitation project ever undertaken in Canadian history. Alongside our construction partner EllisDon, we are staffing and managing this very significant government program and want you to join our HR team! As the HR Advisor for this iconic project, you will provide expertise in assisting with strategic talent management programming, policies and implementation. This role will report directly to the Program Leader on Centre Block and to the District HRPD Manager for the Ottawa region.


As the HR Advisor for our Centre Block project, based in Ottawa ON, you will contribute to our team by:

Responsibilities
•    Acts as first point of contact for employee and managers on all HR related matters; specifically, employee relations and investigations.
•    Leads talent acquisition efforts and strategy and overseeing student program execution.
•    Administers and advising on talent management programs, policies, and compliance opportunities.
•    Provides guidance, coaching and full cycle talent management support – compensation, succession planning, performance potential and talent review cycles.
•    Delivers training programs, facilitation sessions and identifying training requirements.
•    Provides implementation support to the district HR team on corporate and regional initiatives (i.e. employee engagement, diversity programs, etc.)

Qualifications

•    Postsecondary diploma or degree in human resources or a related discipline preferred.
•    5+ years of progressive HR experience preferred. Demonstrated understanding and application of HR-related principles, practices, procedures, and employment legislation.
•    Ability to tactfully and diplomatically deal with people and act with discretion when handling confidential information.
•    Results-oriented, with ability to work independently or in a team environment in a highly matrixed organization.
•    Seen as a trusted advisor with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.

•    Ability to research, analyze information and data, and make recommendations.
