Reporting to the Human Resources Director, East, the Human Resources Advisor (HRA) will provide day-to-day HR support to Managers and Employees, and assist in the implementation of HR programs and initiatives that help execute the business plans, strategies and goals of the organization. The incumbent is directly responsible for the execution of all formal HR programs and processes in areas such as recruitment, rewards and recognition, change management, performance management, leave / return to work management and training.  

Key Objectives:

  • Provides in-depth guidance and support to Managers for the recruitment of all positions. This will include coaching on interviewing best practices, leading recruitment initiatives, ensuring completion of required pre-employment processes and preparation of offer letters.
  • Support business leaders with strategic HR advice in resolving employee and HR-related matters.
  • Provides resolution of critical issues with respect to employee relations, and helps ensure employee satisfaction and commitment, while always referencing provincial legislation and Superior Propane policies and guidelines to manage issues.
  • Facilitate the implementation, interpretation and application of Superior Propane’s company policies, projects and programs that support the organization's Mission, Vision and Values.
  • Participate in HR projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Completed Post-secondary education in human resources or a related discipline.
  • 5 years of progressive HR experience in a corporate setting, with a demonstrated understanding and application of HR related principles, practices, procedures and employment legislation.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to frequently changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Effective collaborator who builds strong relationships with business leaders and other stakeholders at all corporate levels.
  • Results-oriented, with ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Ability to tactfully and diplomatically deal with people and act with discretion when handling confidential information.
  • CHRP Designation is considered an asset.
  • Bilingual French/English will be considered an asset.
