Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparation, administration and processing of payroll
  • Prepare, verify and process all employee payroll related payments and verify employee earning statements
  • Prepare payroll related filings and/or remittances and supporting documentation, such as year-end tax statements, pension, Records of Employment, garnishments
  • Responsible for workers compensation remittances
  • Responsible for maintaining vacation schedules
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation of payroll functions for audit purposes, in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • HR related duties including assisting with recruiting, employee relations, coordinating training
  • Other administrative duties, as time permits, supporting Health and Safety, Finance, and company projects

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Post secondary education in a related discipline, with 1+ years of related experience
  • Experience with ADP processing software an asset
  • Proven communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage work with a high degree of confidentiality, accuracy, and urgency
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex priorities
  • Comfortable with uncertainty and rapidly changing circumstances
  • Proficiency in Outlook suite required
