Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for preparation, administration and processing of payroll
- Prepare, verify and process all employee payroll related payments and verify employee earning statements
- Prepare payroll related filings and/or remittances and supporting documentation, such as year-end tax statements, pension, Records of Employment, garnishments
- Responsible for workers compensation remittances
- Responsible for maintaining vacation schedules
- Maintain detailed records and documentation of payroll functions for audit purposes, in accordance with statutory requirements.
- HR related duties including assisting with recruiting, employee relations, coordinating training
- Other administrative duties, as time permits, supporting Health and Safety, Finance, and company projects
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Post secondary education in a related discipline, with 1+ years of related experience
- Experience with ADP processing software an asset
- Proven communication and analytical skills
- Ability to manage work with a high degree of confidentiality, accuracy, and urgency
- Ability to manage multiple, complex priorities
- Comfortable with uncertainty and rapidly changing circumstances
- Proficiency in Outlook suite required
