Scope

We are currently accepting applications for the Vice President position as a key member in our senior executive leadership team to provide leadership and strategic direction to AON’s seniors businesses.  This includes four “Gardens of Peterborough” retirement residences currently, two long-term care homes, and its luxurious seniors’ apartment operations.  As the VP, you will cultivate and develop a positive and productive culture and lead a team in the delivery of superior lifestyle options for seniors. You will be hyper-focused on resident quality of life, mental and physical well-being, and long-term resident and family member satisfaction. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Accountability for the overall success of AON Inc. including business planning, policy formulation, and decision-making on matters affecting the organization in its entirety 
  • Oversight of daily operations across AON’s largest sites, encompassing service delivery, compliance and quality improvement, marketing, human resources, and technology
  • Provide guidance and direction to the senior management team in regards to workplace health and safety, infection control measures, and the efficient utilization of resources and company assets
  • Ensure and secure the profitable growth of AON’s business portfolio, further developing the organization’s brands by capitalizing on improvement opportunities
  • Provide guidance and leadership in human resources practices including performance management, labour relations, staff development and retention, and human rights legislation
  • Proactively respond to legislative developments, health system transformation, and evolving demographic trends to advise the Senior Leadership Team and guide the retirement, long-term care, and luxury senior apartment teams
  • Maintain high standards of performance from the senior management team, ensuring accountability for the execution of business goals
  • Motivate others through a shared vision and established benchmarks while supporting a culture of staff development
  • Lead and inspire team members to work collaboratively, driving results towards AON’s mission and objectives with excellence

 

Skills & Qualifications Required:

  • Undergraduate degree is required; Masters Degree in Business or Health Administration is an asset
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience in progressively senior roles and/or equivalent combination of strategic and operational experience in a senior position;  Leadership in healthcare is an asset
  • Demonstrated experience in managing technical, legal, and financial information and the ability to find solutions to complex issues
  • Leadership values and personal presence that inspires confidence and credibility
  • Demonstrated composure and sound judgment at all times, particularly when facing significant challenges. Able to consistently exercise discretion
  • Flexibility and tolerance for ambiguity in a constantly evolving health care environment
  • Commitment to team building in a complex environment and ability to work with various constituents/teams to build consensus and support for change initiatives.
  • Highly developed influencing, negotiating, communications and interpersonal skills (verbal, written and presentation)
  • Ability to manage competing projects/initiatives simultaneously and positively manage the many ‘moving parts’ relating to the delivery of a project or the operation of a senior’s residence.
  • Ability to rapidly develop and maintain a current knowledge of healthcare industry operations and trends, including evolving regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Ability to understand the complexity and interdependent nature of various functional disciplines, shared resources, and corporate capabilities
