Human Resources Administration:

  • Providing professional services in the areas of organizational development, employee relations, performance management, compensation management, learning and development, and employee engagement programs
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining standardized templates and processes for job descriptions, performance management, onboarding, etc
  • Managing and retaining confidential employee files, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, corporate policies, and audit requirements
  • Administration of employee benefits, vacation, salary changes, and promotions, etc
  • Onboarding new employees includes offer preparation, conducting orientation sessions, setting new employees up in the HRM, benefit and pension registration, etc, and supporting the employee as they transition into Comtech
  • Offboarding employees including conducting termination meetings in conjunction with HR Management and legal counsel (where necessary), and updating the HRM, benefit and pension systems, and employee support as they transition out of Comtech
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining corporate policies
  • Maintaining current knowledge of Canadian Human Resources legislation, practices, and policies

Employee Engagement:

  • Addressing and resolving employee inquiries
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with employees providing world-class employee relations support
  • Work with employees and managers to provide learning and development support
  • Engage with site project staff on client sites to provide HR support as needed, conduct investigations, etc
  • Participate in corporate and team meetings, town halls, and events
  • Coach employees regarding policies, programs, and procedural compliance
  • Organize employee engagement events and social gatherings

Business Support:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with business and project leaders
  • Provide input and suggestions for continuous improvement and opportunities for growth
  • Share employee relations insights with leaders and suggest opportunities for improvement
  • Work collaboratively with other shared services departments to ensure seamless service delivery for employees
  • Act as an ambassador for the organization to drive growth, performance improvement, and quality

HR Reporting and Analytics:

  • Using the HRM combined with other data and system inputs, prepare impactful analysis and reports for use by executives and leaders
  • Suggest opportunities for leveraging reporting capabilities in HRM and other systems, and develop sample reports for approval

Other:

  • Provide backup support for processing immigration matters
  • Provide backup support for the reception during absences

Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum Years of experience 3+ years

Education/Designation:

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent
  • Exceptional knowledge and above-average proficiency in MS Office Suite/Office 365

Experience:

  • Must possess a high level of attention to detail and resourcefulness with problem-solving
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A responsible individual with strong multi-tasking and organizational skills, working in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Highly diplomatic and professional in all interactions with experience effectively dealing with sensitive and confidential situations and information
  • Excellent written and oral communication with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong self-motivation and service aptitude
  • Experience with an HRM system including HR report generation and data analysis

Preference:

  • Experience working in the professional services or consulting industry
  • Experience with Deltek HR Talent suite
  • Experience supporting employees working in a project-based environment
  • CHRP designation, or working towards
  • U.S. HR experience

Other:

  • Drivers license and access to a vehicle to travel mainly throughout the GTA sometimes on short notice
