Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Human Resources Coordinator who is passionate about matching individuals with the right opportunities. This role will be responsible for the full cycle recruitment for a range of positions within their portfolio group. This position will also provide support in the onboarding of employees into our various systems and act as a resource to employees in their various career and life changes.

Summary of duties listed but not limited to:

  • Coordinates and manages the full recruitment cycle including reviewing postings, developing interview questions, completing references and presenting offers to candidates.
  • Counsels hiring leaders on the recruitment process including those identified as hard to fill, developing sourcing strategies and providing guidance on interpretation of collective agreements.
  • Provides guidance, direction and support to the client group on recruitment, company policies & procedures, and total rewards, i.e., leaves of absences, retirements, vacation policy etc.
  • Drafts letters relating to job offers, contract extensions and other letters as required.
  • Supports new employee onboarding process.
  • Performs pay and benefit administration for new hires i.e., data entry into Ceridian and HOOPP.
  • Champions service excellence with internal and external contacts and acts as an ambassador of the organization supporting employees through their various career and life changes.
  • Supports the ongoing development and enhancement of HR data integrity.
  • Generates and distributes various HR reports as needed.
  • Contributes to Human Resources team projects and quality improvement initiatives.

As a role model and champion, you will work to identify and integrate safe, best practices into daily activities to foster the delivery of safe and exemplary care.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degree in Human Resources, Commerce or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Two (2) years of Human Resources experience with a focus on full-cycle recruitment, preferably in a unionized health care environment.
  • Experience in a unionized setting required, experience in an academic setting an asset
  • CHRP designation preferred.
  • Experience with a Recruitment Management System required, Njoyn experience an asset.
  • Ceridian Dayforce experience an asset.
  • Compensation and Benefits administration experience an asset.
  • An understanding of collective agreements and relevant legislation i.e., ESA, Human Rights Code, Ontario Labour Relations Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, etc.
  • Proven ability to prioritize duties/projects, multi-task, and work independently in a fast-paced environment with constant demands.
  • Strong customer service orientation, sensitive to client issues and understanding of importance of diplomacy and confidentiality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication required to act as an ambassador of Women’s College Hospital to employees, management and external candidates.
  • Demonstrated record of good performance and acceptable attendance will be considered as part of the selection criteria
  • Professional behaviour and communication that meets the standards of the professional regulatory college or association, as applicable, and the standards of Women’s College Hospital
  • This position plays a critical role in acting as an advocate for safety and will demonstrate principles, practices and processes that will optimize a safe environment for all.
