Human Resources Generalist

to join our team in Mississauga, Ontario.

 

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing a full range of Human Resources services. The successful candidate will have expertise and familiarity with human resource practices, current employment legislation, employee benefits, payroll, health and safety and employee relations.

Reporting directly to the Director, Human Resources, the successful candidate will be tasked with the preparation and submission of our bi-weekly payroll through ADP (for our US staff) and Pay Works (for our Canadian staff), along with other Human Resource based functions.

 

Duties:

 

  • Prepare, review and submit bi weekly payroll company wide for approximately 230 employees in Canada and the US
  • Responsible for the full cycle recruitment efforts for all hourly and salaried employees (from job posting to preparation of job offers)
  • Balance employee advocacy and manager consultation on employee relations and performance management issues
  • Understand, support, and properly apply policies and practices including internal investigations ensuring fair resolution of issues
  • Maintain and administer group insurance and benefits
  • Coordinating with the accounting department on payroll and financial matters
  • Work effectively with Senior Management and provide regular updates with respect to all HR concerns
  • Build strong relationships and clear communication with all staff
  • Facilitate the performance review process
  • Other duties, as assigned

 

 

 

Qualifications:

  • University degree or College diploma in HR Management or related discipline, CHRP designation or in process of obtaining preferred
    MANDATORY EXPERIENCE: In-depth knowledge (a minimum of 5 years’ experience) of payroll software – preference would be given to those with experience using ADP and PayWorks
  • HR experience 3 or more years of HR/ Payroll experience
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize with a focus on smooth operations and excellent employee relations
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where effective teamwork is critical to success
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills Independent worker with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to focus on the task at hand HR experience in a manufacturing environment, an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of Ontario Employment Standards, Labour Law and Human Rights Legislation, and its application in a business operation.
  • Ability to provide informal coaching to individuals at all levels and influence as appropriate to ensure successful outcomes.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • Excellent computer skills (Google Suite)
