Actemium Industrial Automation Toronto is an established leader in controls integration, electrical design, panel fabrication, and engineering services for a wide range of clients in a variety of industries.  The main industries we support include: Food & Beverage, Brewing, and Life Sciences.   The Automation team consists of a high-performance group of managers, engineers, and technicians.

Job Summary

This is a full-time permanent role supporting the management team and reporting directly to the General Manager. The Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for providing HR support to the Industrial Automation team. Duties will include HR administration, recruitment, training, health and safety, and support of corporate initiatives. To be successful in this role, the incumbent must be positive and cheerful, hands on, adaptable, enjoy taking on challenges, and able to cut through the small stuff to get the job done.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Maintain HRIS and keep confidential employee files up to date and accurate. Ensure compliance with all applicable employment and related legislation. Coordination of recruitment and selection process including job descriptions, postings, screening, interviewing, and hiring. Organize and execute onboarding and orientation for new employees. Manage and audit internal training programs. Continuous improvements and counseling on current and new policies and procedures. Coordination of Health, Safety and Environmental compliance matters including Contractor management systems (e.g. ISN), workplace inspections and accident investigations, JHSC meetings, MOL orders and directions. Assist with payroll and benefits administration. Assist management in implementing and optimizing culture and people programs to cultivate and sustain an environment where top talent wants to work. Other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Three (3) to Five (5) years’ experience in a Human Resources Coordinator role A relevant post-secondary program in Human Resources Management (University Degree, College Diploma or Professional Certificate). Knowledge of employment and related legislation (e.g., Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, Employment Equity Legislation, OHSA, WSIB). A strong understanding of best practices and current regulations specific to HR. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of programs (SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). Able to speak confidently to all levels in the company. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to manage multiple priorities and with a high attention to detail. Will only consider applicants located in the Toronto area. Must have the ability to commute to the Toronto office.

Beneficial Qualifications

  • Experience with Recruitment, Selection, Employee Relations, and Labour Relations. PCP certification or experience with previous payroll.

Working Conditions

  • This is an in-office 40hr per week position. Flexible start and end time but present during core business hours between 9am-3pm. Overtime as required.
