Volunteer Board Member

QCCC is a non-profit organization that has been in existence for over 35 years. It began as a drop-in program for adults who were returning to high school to earn their diploma at the former Belleville Collegiate Institute and Vocational School. QCCC has gone on to provide licensed child care in facilities located inside Park Dale Public School through agreements with the Ministry of Education, The County of Hastings, and the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board.

The overall role of the Board of Directors is to effectively govern the organization by setting policies and overseeing matters of business. The responsibilities of individual Board Members are:

• To fulfill the responsibilities of a Trustee as required by law;
• To contribute to the decisions of the Board through the regular attendance and participation at Board Meetings;
• To contribute to the planning and evaluation function of the Board; and
• To help provide vision and leadership for the organization.

This is an exciting time to become involved with a licensed child care center, as we transition into the Canada Wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement with the government.
