Currently, our Human Resources division is seeking a Construction Labour Relations Specialist. Reporting to the Senior Director, Labour Relations, you will be accountable for the support of an effective Labour Relations' strategy at Bruce Power through accurate administration of collective agreements and consistent, balanced employee/labour relations practices.

This position will be specifically focused on our Construction Labour Relations portfolio through which the successful candidate will be responsible for effectively supporting and administering the numerous building trade collective agreements either directly with Bruce Power or jointly through an employers association (EPSCA).

Bruce Power is in the midst of a multi-decade asset management and major component replacement program to ensure our units can continue to generate electricity for the province of Ontario for years to come, the focus on long term construction operations is changing the face of our business and this successful candidate will play a key role in administering the day to day labour relations interface and practices between our executive team, union leaders and our vendor partners.

We are looking for someone with the ability to work effectively in situations involving rapid change, shifting priorities, and simultaneous demands. The successful candidate would ideally possess collective bargaining experience, familiarity with the commercial processes partnering with Supply Chain on RFPs and experience working with construction vendors. Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills are crucial to this role. Experience with conducting presentations or training sessions is considered an asset.

This is a permanent, full-time position which offers a competitive benefits, compensation and pension package and is located on site in Tiverton, Ontario.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Administration and interpretation of multiple collective agreements, policies, arbitration awards, settlements and changes in legislation
  • Administration of labour requirements packages to support the Commercial contracting/sub-contracting process
  • Administration of skilled trades demand forecasting metrics
  • Actively participate in the collective bargaining process
  • Continuously review and update LR strategies, policies and programs

If you have at least six years of Labour Relations experience (preferably in a construction capacity) and a relevant university degree, we would like to hear from you. CHRP designation or candidacy is strongly preferred.
