Agricorp is looking for a Human Resources Consultant to join the Human Resources division. This position provides advice and consultation on the implementation and application of human resources policies, programs, and procedures across the organization.
The Role
The Human Resources Consultant provides generalist and specialized support to employees and leaders in a variety of human resources functions such as recruitment, learning, compensation, performance management. In this role, you will:
- Consult with business leaders to support HR solutions within their division in the areas of recruitment, learning, employee relations
- Develop and maintain sound business relationships with leaders and employees across the business
- Provide human resources advice and support to leaders and employees in the application and interpretation of HR processes, policies, procedures and programs, such as recruitment, learning, performance management, employment legislation, and leaves of absence
- Provide creative and flexible solutions to people issues by thinking critically and analyzing data in collaboration with business leaders, using past experience and interpretation of Agricorp policies and procedures
- Recommend improvements to HR processes, policies, procedures, and programs to more effectively support business needs
- Lead or participate in HR initiatives or projects to address functional priorities
- Coach and train peers on HR policies and procedures, as required
- Stay current in HR approaches and best practices through ongoing professional development and networking

Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in a human resources-related discipline or equivalent education and experience
- Minimum 3-5 years’ progressive experience in an HR generalist or consultant role with sound knowledge of employment-related legislation
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as demonstrated proficiency with MS Office applications
- Well developed organizational, time management, interpersonal and problem-solving skills with a consultative and informative approach
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation, including but not limited to: Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, etc.
- Experience in multiple areas of HR, including but not limited to, recruitment, learning and development, employee relations, HR reporting and metrics, performance management, etc.
- Experience working with third party human resources vendors, such as recruitment agencies, employment lawyers
- Experience using human resources information systems; experience with UltiPro is an asset
- Possesses or working towards a human resources focused designation, an asset (i.e. Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP), Certified Training Practitioner (CTP), etc.)
