The Manager, Talent & Workforce Planning will lead the talent acquisition and workforce planning functions, ensuring goals, plans and initiatives are delivered and executed in support of Mackenzie Health’s strategies and objectives.  The successful candidate will be responsible for developing an understanding our current and future talent needs and supporting the flow of talent into and throughout the organization.  The Manager will play a pivotal role in advancing best-in-class talent acquisition and retention strategies, and will lead a transformation to evolve talent and workforce planning processes, procedures and practices at Mackenzie Health to help ensure that we are able to deliver on our commitment to patient care excellence.

 

 

 

Your contributions will include:

 

  • Advise and contribute to the overall talent strategy to meet current and future needs; operationalize the results of strategic planning Define and oversee the strategic approaches for implementing the workforce plan and strategies including methodologies, workflows, processes, policies and tools Deliver integrated and innovative sourcing strategies to target and recruit a strong candidate pool using a variety of tools, techniques and technology Work collaboratively as a trusted partner with clients and stakeholders to develop creative and thoughtful strategies/approaches that address their talent acquisition and workforce planning requirements to target a strong candidate pool and ensure organizational human capital retention Establish and maintain talent market expertise, including best practices, industry trends, and innovative recruiting techniques; act as subject matter expert, providing insights on the market and talent landscape to support development of strategies and initiatives Help define and execute on Mackenzie Health’s employment branding initiatives, including the unique value proposition that we offer Develop a suite of key performance indicators, monitors and reports on the metrics performance used to track hiring success, measure progress toward goals, and adjust plans to respond to the organization’s evolving hiring and retention requirements. Collaborate with human resources and operational leaders to optimize talent acquisition processes, while ensuring a best-in-class candidate experience Support the development and maintenance of effective programs for workforce retention, promotion and succession planning Lead, mentor and coach team members to support them in delivering effective, best practice, timely and customer-focused service to all clients and partners Maintain reports and metrics to assess the efficiency and capability of the workforce and organizational structure Create, manage and deliver regular data and reports to demonstrate the human capital health of Mackenzie Health Ensure recruitment programs, policies and procedures are equitable and in compliance with labour laws, legislation and regulations Lead HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives to improve service excellence and delivery, and employee experience, engagement, and retention

 

What must you have?

 

  • University or Community College graduate in Human Resources, or a related discipline Professional certification (CHRP/CHRL) preferred Minimum of five (5) years of management experience in HR, with specific experience leading recruitment/talent acquisition

  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing a talent acquisition strategy Prior experience in project management and overseeing multiple initiatives Self-directed and solution-oriented with a strong work-ethic Highly developed communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels Exceptional time management and organizational skills, ability to be flexibility and reprioritize activities in response to contextual changes, meeting demanding deadlines and producing high quality work Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify trends and formulate recommendations for plans of action Strong relationship management skills and the ability to influence others and able to establish credibility with all levels of the organization, challenging the status quo and being a catalyst for positive change Ability to interpret and apply relevant provisions of the Ontario Human Rights Code, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, collective agreements, human rights case law, and related legislation (e.g. Employment Standards Act) Advanced computer skills and the ability to work with Microsoft Office Software including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as ATS and HRIS database systems Proven attendance record Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all Ability to perform the essential duties of the job Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others Demonstrates behaviours consistent with Mackenzie Health’s Commitment to Caring.
