DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Manager, Total Rewards and supporting a team of Advisors, the HRIS Specialist is responsible for maintaining daily HRIS interface management and development of organization and position structure across multiple platforms to ensure business operational needs are delivered accurately and timely.  The HRIS Specialist will support reporting needs across HR functions and promote data integrity.  This role will have a focus on continuous improvement and quality assurance for functional productivity and workflow in HR processes and systems.

 

Within this role, the HRIS Specialist is accountable for contributing to the delivery of the Kingston Health Sciences Centre strategy. As an employee, one must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for actively promoting and supporting patient and family centered engagement and care in all we do.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES & DUTIES:

  • Data integrity and quality assurance is essential for the management of HRIS interface management  including daily analysis and maintenance of interfaces across multiple HRIS platforms including SAP, KRONOS, applicant tracking and learning management systems.  Diagnose errors, provide correction appropriately, and communicate with impacted stakeholders including learning and feedback.

  • Respond to standard cyclical reports, audits and surveys. Develop report templates, schedules and analysis to support work of the HR Planning & Performance Advisors and related HR services.

  • Act as a resource to People Services staff through technical guidance to end users. Assist and support new initiatives through data entry and testing.

  • Support in the development of documentation related to technical processes for training and risk mitigation.  Participate and actively suggest ways to improve process, reporting, auditing and data capture across HRIS platforms.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field with a post-graduate diploma in Human Resources or a combination of equivalent education and experience, CHRP preferred.

  • 3 years’ experience working in human resources with a focus on HRIS

  • Experience in a unionized setting using large, integrated HRIS platforms preferred

  • Experience with process improvement cycles and technical documentation preferred

  • Experience in complex integrated HRIS preferably SAP and KRONOS

  • Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Office primarily Excel

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong analytic skills

  • Ability to build relationships through strong verbal and interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of human resources best practices and ability to interpret and apply collective agreements, policies and legislation

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Proven ability to attend work regularly.

  • Satisfactory criminal reference check including vulnerable sector search required.
