Bilingual Human Resources Generalist

This role is hybrid (flex) in nature, whereby there is a combination of working from home (remote) as well as working out of the HP office (on-site) each week.  At this time, it is expected that the HR team member will work on-site 2-3 days per week or as otherwise required by HR Leadership based upon the needs of the HR team, Company, business, customers and assignments.   Details regarding the work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be further discussed at the time of your interview by the hiring manager.

This HR Generalist role applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle most unique situations. May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides a full range of HR support and program implementation activities across multiple businesses and functions.
  • Consults with country or regional business and human resources leaders to identify program needs.
  • Acts as a consultant and partner in driving and implementing organizational design, transformation, change management, talent management, total rewards, workforce planning, and employee relations strategies and policies.
  • Ensures HR programs are implemented based on business-specific priorities and legal requirements at the country level.
  • Collaborates across the HR organization to deliver an integrated portfolio of services to all employees.
  • Systematically deploys policies and structures established by HR functions while delivering differentiated solutions based on unique business needs, local market pressures, and the competitive landscape.
  • Supports talent acquisition efforts of staffing and recruiting, and partners with mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and outsourcing (MADO) to ensure new employee integration success.
  • Consults with managers and other stakeholders on employee relations issues.
  • Manages the delivery of multiple programs simultaneously across Canada.
  • May represent HP to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicates HR policies to business managers and employees; works with business leaders to deliver programs that are aligned with global policies and meet local needs.
  • Coaches managers in routine performance and misconduct issues and provides resolution recommendations.
  • Contributes to, creates and helps to lead or directly leads regional priority projects in areas such as legislative compliance, employee experience, DE&I, as well as sustainability and social impact.

Education and Experience Required:

  • First-level university degree or equivalent experience.
  • Typically 4-6 years related experience in human resources functional area, HR Generalist, or HR Consulting/Business Partner role.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of all human resources areas.
  • Developed legal knowledge of the local environment.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Advanced quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to respond independently to complex inquiries.
  • HR professional designation (CHRP/CHRL) is a plus
