Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources the Consultant, Learning and Organizational Development is responsible for the leadership and management of organizational development strategies in the Human Resources Division. This position develops, directs, implements and administers strategic organizational development initiatives related to leadership development, change management, performance management, development assessments and discipline-specific training. The Consultant, Organizational Development facilitates the creation of human capital development solutions by planning, organizing, and developing appropriate interventions, such as training curricula, materials, and programs. This role leverages organizational development and organizational behavior theory and methodology, as well as adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to develop programs to achieve organizational goals.

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you possess a post-secondary degree in Human Resources Management or related field with a minimum of five (5) years of significant demonstrated experience in Human Resources. Successful completion of a Professional Instructional Design/Training Certification, CDP designation or a CHRP/CHRL designation is considered an asset. 

Advanced working knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and eLearning authoring tools is required. Thorough working knowledge of Human Resources legislation such was the Employee Standard Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act and organizational development / change management principles is required.

You will possess strong project management skills, data analysis and the ability to develop KPI’s/metrics. In addition, you have strong customer service orientation, interpersonal, collaborative, problem-solving, and facilitation/presentation skills. You will foster a cooperative team approach and positive attitude among staff and champion the vision, mission and values of the Town of Aurora.

Successful applicants to this position will be required to provide a Police Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to the Town prior to their start date at the applicants’ own cost.
