Located in fast-growing west Ottawa, Queensway Carleton Hospital (QCH) cares for nearly 500,000 each year. With 280 beds, QCH is the secondary referral centre for the Ottawa Valley and offers diverse programs and services such as Emergency, Childbirth, Geriatrics, Mental Health, Rehabilitation, Medical and Surgical Services, and Critical Care Services. Its exemplary team of 2,500 health care professionals have dedicated themselves to providing expert care that puts patients and families first and was recognized in Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals Survey in 2021 as the #1 hospital in Ottawa, #16 in Canada.

With its new strategic plan imminent, QCH is seeking its next Vice President, Organizational Effectiveness.

Reporting to QCH’s President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and as a member of the senior management team, you will provide strategic leadership in fostering a learning culture and positive work life across the hospital, as well as facilitating corporate strategy deployment. You will act as an executive sponsor, bringing a keen eye to the monitoring of corporate performance and the progress on strategic initiatives. The scope of this role and its impact potential is vast and includes including continuous performance improvement, leadership and culture, change management, learning and development, talent management, employee experience and retention, wellness, diversity, equity and inclusion, employee scheduling, labour relations, HR operations, employee health and safety, and volunteer resources. You also oversee the clinical services of spiritual care, clinical rehabilitation, and QCH’s Allied Health professionals.

QCH will benefit from your progressive leadership experience in another mid-to-large, complex unionized environment as well as your excellent knowledge of workforce strategies, organizational culture and HR operations. Highly respected for your superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities and strong strategic and business mindset, you are a change agent possessing a working knowledge of LEAN/continuous performance improvement methodologies and a deep appreciation for collaborative problem-solving. You are a highly dynamic leader and skilled communicator whose success is rooted in engaging and empowering teams to achieve performance excellence. A systems thinker who is collaborative by nature, politically astute and highly valued by stakeholders and partners for your authenticity, executive maturity and conviction, you will continue to enhance QCH’s local and regional role to provide service excellence to the growing Ottawa area and surrounding communities.
