Role Overview:

The National Payroll Institute has an exciting opportunity for a Career Development Coordinator to join the Professional Certification Team. This position will ensure a positive and long-term impact on career development initiatives sponsored by the National Payroll Institute. In addition, the incumbent will be the main point of contact to coordinate and administer the career development initiatives and services for the Institute prospects, students, and designated members, along with employers looking to hire qualified payroll employees.

What you will be doing:
Mentorship:

Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Institute’s mentorship platform (Mentorcity), including acting as a champion of the program and being first point of contact, identifying and escalating to management any negative behavior that either mentors or mentees engage in, then communicating any disciplinary decisions back to them and establishing benchmarks and preparing engagement reporting for the dashboard.

Strategic Initiatives:

  • Benchmark influencer professions (HR and Accounting) along with education institutions and non-profits to bring new ideas to the Institute’s career development initiative. Promote career toolkits and other career development resources offered by the Institute. Collaborate with and assist the Institute’s Stakeholder Relations team to develop employment channels for Payroll System Services Providers (PSSPs). Build connections and networks with recruiters and organizations looking to hire, as well as supporting prospective employers with their hiring needs.

Career Events:

  • Coordinate and schedule hiring managers, recruiters, and HR leaders to speak to students both in classrooms and at Institute virtual course offerings.
  • Manage all online/in person career development events/workshops including providing technical guidance and direction to team members as appropriate.
  • Work with strategic partners to provide Career Development events

Designation Maintenance:

  • Serve as first point of contact for Certification Professional Education (CPE) inquiries.
  • Lead the annual Continuing Professional Education (CPE) reminder campaign (calls/e-mails/letters).
  • Respond to student and candidate transfer of credit inquiries including organizing submitted documentation and providing documentation submission status.

This role is for you if you have:

  • Post-secondary education – College diploma (Business Administration preferred).
  • 2 years’ experience in career development.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office in Windows environment. (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong database (i.e. iMIS) skills and computer skills.
  • Fluently bilingual is an asset, English and French, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and perform tasks accurately in a timely fashion.
  • Adjusts quickly and effectively to changing conditions and demands.
  • Good organizational and time management skills; ability to multi-tasks and prioritize.
